No signs. No coach. No passing. Michigan didn’t put college football on notice Saturday…they’ve been doing that for weeks. What they did this weekend is dominate a top ten team with literally both arms tied behind their back and tell the pundits and the hypocrite big ten coaches to kiss their collective asses. They cannot lose. They will not lose. And Josh Gattis with his sour-ass exit comments from a year and a half ago is on the clock.
October 15, 2005: Michigan went 54 yards in 37 seconds, culminating with a now famous “TOUCHDOWN MANNINGHAM” as time expired, and Michigan beat Penn State 27-25, their 7th in a row over the Nittany Lions and part of a 10 year run (1997-2007) with 9 straight wins. Led by Captain Michigan, we declared it “The Best Tailgate Ever” and thus began a several year run of blasting the Joe Esposito classic Karate Kid hit as often as possible. Lots of Italian food, lots of family, and yet another dominating victory by the Wolverines. Really an amazing day with lots of old friends making an appearance, big hugs and misty eyes. In case anyone questions why I do this every Saturday in the fall, days like this are why. Can’t wait to see you all on the road the next couple of weeks and then back in the cove for the home finale.
November 11, 1995: A group picture indoors as the rain turned to sleet before Michigan edged the Boilermakers 5-0. Purdue had 113 total yards. Mike Alstott was held to 19 yards…he averaged 6 YPC that season. More from this day on the game page.
September 19, 1992: Three future tailgate hall of famers had a beer or two before the Oklahoma State Cowboys visited the Big House and got dismantled 35-3.
